Details	The objective of this project is to show that complex concepts are learnable in the L2 classroom and in the target language if the right tools are applied, even in a non-immersion context and in populations with distant cultural backgrounds. This team proposes to create and test materials for Spanish as L2 within the Sociocultural Theory framework (Lantolf & Thorne, 2006), focusing on the field of peace studies, in particular, on the topic of imperfect peace (Muñoz, 2001). Several forms of art are included in the mediating tools proposed to access complex cultural constructs that the students are unfamiliar with.
