| 概要 | The COVID-19 pandemic devastated small hotels, but those with a **Small Business Orientation (SBO)** showed remarkable resilience. Unlike growth-focused firms, SBO hotels prioritize long-term continuity, community, and unique cultural value over rapid expansion.
A study of Kyoto hotels revealed that survivors had significantly **lower** pre-pandemic growth rates (2014–2018) than those that failed. This suggests that a commitment to steady operations and local heritage is key to weathering major crises. Ultimately, SBO preserves authentic hospitality by valuing sustainability and tradition over short-term profit. |
