| 概要 | This study examined the educational potential of an English as an International Language (EIL) learning program incorporating AI-driven text-to-speech (TTS) non-native English varieties. Fifteen Japanese university students participated in a five-session pilot intervention. Pre- and post-questionnaires included a TTS-based listening test, the EIL Perception Scale, and reflective responses. Although no significant gains were found in listening scores, a positive trend emerged in strategies for multilingual and multicultural communication. Qualitative data indicated increased openness toward diverse English accents. These findings suggest that exposure to TTS-synthesized non-native English may foster awareness of linguistic diversity and encourage reconsideration of native-speaker norms, while highlighting the need for larger-scale, longer-term studies. |
