概要 | In Belgium, the career break and time credit laws allowed both men and women to reduce work hours for other activities. Though initially aimed at addressing unemployment, the focus shifted to improving work-life balance, but gendered usage persisted. In Japan, the Equal Employment Opportunity Law created new job opportunities for women, but traditional gender roles remained influential. Despite the Vision and Basic Law for a Gender Equal Society promoting equality, the law primarily focused on women until 2006. For true equality, a redefinition of public and private spheres is needed, and new laws offer opportunities for such change. |
