Details | A more controlled and teacher-directed program for self-directed learning was created after a self-access learning centre (SALC) was established at Sojo University. Even though it was one of the best facilities of its kind in Japan when completed, students very rarely used it to its (and their) full potential. As a result, this researcher, through trial and error, attempted a variety of projects in class to encourage students to use the centre of their own volition. The benefits and drawbacks of each project is discussed. |
