概要	The purpose of this paper is to report on the transition process from print to digital books in a university-wide extensive reading program. Not only was reading performance compared, but also students’ attitudes about reading in English as a foreign language and the pros and cons of the two reading programs were analyzed to see to what extent they varied for the separate groups. Differences observed in the data showed that students read significantly fewer words but far more books on average with digital books than a similar cohort previously did with paper-based books. It also showed that there was a slight but significant decrease in intrinsic motivation amongst learners when reading digital books versus paper-based ones.
