| Details | Communicative competence is now the generally accepted goal of language acquisition and the cornerstone of the communicative approach widely accepted in EFL and ESL classrooms around the world. With this in mind, this paper examines the potential of using activities, which introduce an element of competition into the classroom as a way of motivating students to actively communicate.
First it looks at the advantages afforded by activities that contain competitive elements. It then introduces some example activities, together with commentary on their use in the classroom. |
