Details | This paper reports on the introduction of students' learning about cultural diversity from a 'glocal' perspective. The paper first provides a brief overview of the recent global initiatives by the UN. It deals with some recent internal changes in Japan's societal dynamics, suggesting the advantages of fostering the glocal mind in students in higher education in Japan. It then deals with research project classes. Their steps, contents, and outcomes are reviewed. After discussing the students' achievements as well as their limitations, the papaer explores the possibilities for fostering a glocal mind. |
