Details This study presents and analyzes the results of an Extensive Reading program carried out during the 2023/2024 academic year with 106 Japanese students of Spanish distributed among six groups between first and fourth year at a Japanese university of foreign studies. The objectives of the study are to evaluate whether, after the program, the students have perceived an improvement in their own attitude towards reading and to analyze which attitudinal components have been most affected in each group. To do this, after the completion of the program, we have applied to the students a Likert scale questionnaire with 8 items based on Yamashita's reading attitude questionnaire (2013), and adapted so that the students reflect about the experience of having read in Spanish during the school year. The results suggest a possible positive effect of the Extensive Reading program on the students' perceptions of their own attitudes toward reading.
