| Details | Beginning with the differences between two village maps submitted to adjudicate the 1800 boundary dispute between the villages of Nohcacab and Calkinii, this study commences to discuss the Maya spatial perspective and land ownership concepts. Then, analyzing the differences between the Mayan colonial maps and those produced by the Spaniards, it concludes that the former are based on Pre-Columbian traditional spatial concepts and that, throughout the colonial period, two distinct spatial conceptions of different origins coexisted within the Gobernación de Yucatán. |
