Details	1950年代から1960年代にかけて米国ニュージャージー州ニューアーク市で行われた都市再開発事業（urban renewal)が、黒人住民に対する住宅差別（housing discrimination)によって貧困黒人層を中心とするゲットー地区の再生産に繋がった過程に関して、U.S. Census of Population and Housingや関係諸機関（The Newarku Housing Authority, U.S. Civil Rights Comission等）の一次資料を使って実証的に論じた。また、そのようなゲットー地区の形成が、1967年夏に勃発した人種暴動（race riot)の大きな背景的要であったことを示した。
