Details | This article consists of an Italian translation of the first chapter of Nishitani Keiji’s book Zen no tachiba 『禅の立場』(1986). This first chapter had previously been written by Nishitani as an article for Kōza zen 『講座禅』vol. 1 (1967). In this work, Nishitani tries, on the one hand, to explain in philosophical terms the standpoint of Zen, especially with respect to human being and modern society, and on the other hand he analyzes his own experience in Zen practice. In particular, in this first chapter he focuses on the explanation of the fundamental meaning of “the investigation of the self.” |
