Details This paper reports on an ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) drama course designed for Japanese university students. It details the course’s use of Spanish as the medium of instruction and its focus on interactive drama activities that foster linguistic, cognitive, affective, and social development. By experiencing the language in contextualized dramatic scenarios, students not only improve their Spanish proficiency but also enhance creativity, self‑awareness, and the formation of a new linguistic identity, while strengthening teamwork and decision‑making skills. The study underscores the effectiveness of theatrical pedagogy in ELE and suggests avenues for future application and research.
