概要 | Learning a language is not simply a matter of passively digesting a series of facts. It also involves understanding and practicing a range of skills that may be learned in a number of ways. Always studying in narrow, familiar ways without exploring other avenues may well stifle learner motivation over the long term. These days learner-centered approaches to teaching, whereby learners are encouraged to have some input into what will be taught and how it will be assessed, are becoming more common. Students need to be made aware of the variety of language learning strategies that exist so that they can potentially participate in decisions about their learning more flexibly and positively. |
