| Details | This study investigates how Japanese university students approach writing in English by analysing their writing processes through semi-structured interviews. Participants were eight second-year students enrolled in an academic writing course at a private university in Japan. The findings suggest that even high-proficiency learners in both L1 and L2 struggle in academic writing courses because they have had little exposure to the rhetorical structures required in academic discourse. |
