| Details | This paper examines how perspectives on what constitutes an effective listening class have evolved over the past twenty years and considers how these insights can inform the development of academic listening instruction. It argues that a successful listening course should provide carefully sequenced, level-appropriate listening tasks along with the scaffolding needed to help students build strategies for successful comprehension. |
