| Details | This paper reviews current research on the use of rubrics in the classroom and aims to clarify both the benefits and limitations of using rubrics as instructional tools and assessment criteria in L2 writing courses. It argues that rubrics can provide valuable support for teachers when responding to student writing and highlights the need for further research on how such tools can be improved in the Japanese university context. |
