| Details | This chapter discusses the development of lessons for Japanese university students with low listening proficiency, using a “sheltered” listening approach. This approach is characterised by strengthening various abilities essential for listening and by promoting the decoding process through practice activities. The chapter presents sample lessons and examines tasks considered effective for this group of students.
My contribution: Of the book’s 260 pages, I am responsible for 14 pages as co-author of the chapter “The Development of a Listening Course for Japanese University Students” (with Michael McAuliffe) in a volume edited by A. Burns and J. Siegel. |
