| Details | In content-based courses, students’ grades rely heavily on written assignments, making academic writing a central component of assessment. However, many instructors in such courses do not explicitly teach writing. This study analyses 32 essays produced by high-achieving students enrolled in a content-based course to identify issues in their academic writing. The results indicate that although students generally understand the genre of academic writing, they continue to struggle with selecting appropriate language and vocabulary for the academic themes they are required to discuss. |
