概要	Aimed at international ethnomusicologists, educators, heritage industry and museum curators, this paper presents visual material created or collected so far in my Japanese whalesong research: song distribution maps and statistical charts, collected images of whaling in antique woodblock prints, scrolls, screens etc. Additionally, I propose a visual method, based on Inca ‘khipu’ knots, and prayer beads, to represent the pattern of imagery and kakegoe in different types of whalesong, for purposes of cross-reference and international comparison.
