| 概要 | In discussing the organizational resilience of small medium sized enterprises (SMEs), many researchers argue that strategic orientation may be a key factor, but they mainly focus on growth strategies, innovation, strategic pivots, or new business creation. However, special strategic orientation for continuing unique and small business, suggested as Small Busienss Orientation (SBO) by Runyan and Covin, may reveal new resilience effects of SMEs. Based on the Attention Based perspective, their particular attention to seek for small business continuity rather than fast growth makes owners and managers take special managerial goals and shape strategy. Examining features of survival companies in 211 small companies in local lodging industry in Kyoto before and after the Covid 19 pandemic, we find local and small lodging companies with SBO are more likely to survive than young ones with a rapid growth orientation. |
