概要	The theme of the panel is to explore, in the context of the history of Japan-U.S. relations, how Japan, which had constructed its identity as a pacifist nation after World War II, has sought to maintain its own national security in the increasingly tense situation in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years, and how it has been forced to modify its security policies and practice as one of the major powers in the region advocating internationalism.Each presentation aims to approach the overall theme in the context of the history of U.S.-Japan relations. Specifically, the issues of immigration, refugees, and military cooperation between the U.S. and Japan were analyzed and discussed from a historical perspective.
