概要	Through pre- and post-program questionnaires conducted with fourth graders in Shiga Prefecture who participated in the ‘Yamanoko’ forest environmental program as part of their school education, it was shown that the children developed a more realistic understanding of the forest ecosystem and the functions of forests for water source conservation. The students also developed a deeper awareness of the local ecosystem and community. Additionally, it was confirmed that the element of attachment to Shiga Prefecture was a predictor for the question item ‘I want to cherish the nature of Shiga.’
