概要	This presentation described and compared Taiwan’s efforts and attempt to go nuclear and japan's research activities on the utilities for going nuclear. Taiwan’s efforts were real and eventually abandoned under enormous pressure from the US in January 1988. Japan had made some researches on going nuclear, the most famous of which are 1968/70 reports. All the reports concluded that it is not a good policy that Japan goes nuclear. The difference is that Taiwan made the real efforts, whereas Japan just did some research and no real efforts to go nuclear were there.
