Details | The issue of professionalization and professional standards is not new, but it has particular relevance in an increasingly global world that is using English as a lingua franca. Hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs become available every month around the world for teachers. If one considers the laws of supply and demand, it would seem that the jobs available would provide many benefits and professional opportunities. What does this mean for the ELT industry as a whole? This research will address the issues of professionalism for EFL teachers, and discuss the possibilities of professionalization in an industry that is primarily profit-oriented. |
