Details MEXT has indicated that the promotion of autonomous learning is key to the development of students in higher education. This presentation will outline how the presenter and her colleagues created a self-directed, autonomous learning project within the boundaries of a regular university course (English Workshop I&II). She will present her findings from the trial period, in addition to highlighting some of the problems that they needed to overcome in this project, as well as suggestions for future work.
