Details	M.beccariana,M.winkleri,M.trachyphyllaの3種を苗畑で栽培し、成長量を計測するとともに、アリ防衛への投資量を純生産レベル、炭素・窒素ベースで定量した。アリ防衛への投資量は、純生産ベースでは1.8～4.5％、炭素ベースでは2.5～6.0％、窒素ベースでは5.1～10.8%であり、純生産量ベースでも、炭素・窒素ベースでも、アリ防衛の強い種ほど大きかった。
