Details | Paralleling Kozinets’(1998) “Netnography”, this paper looks at transference of online research methods from the field of market research to the fields of sociology and anthropology. Compares the 3 main parts of the web, various research strategies, available tools and search facilities, and describes potential pitfalls. Concludes that the web may be approached from 3 perspectives: as a tool, as a resource and as a research field in itself, and specifies the advantages and disadvantages of each. |
