Details	発表者は、明治時代の欧州在住、特にパリ在住日本人芸術家や知識人は、通常はコスモポリタンとみなされているが、実は日本とフランスとの間で二元的に揺り動いており国家を超越していたわけではない、と論じた。むべなるかなとの観察と思うが、なぜなのだろうか。人種差別や日本の後進性が原因なのだろうか。発表者は、百年前と現在では環境が完全に異なるので、現在の視点から振り返るべきではないとも論じたが、討論者の質問に対しても、どのような環境の相違であるか具体的な説明が明確にできなかった点は惜しまれる。
