Details	規範という用語を用いて、アジア太平洋地域ないや欧州間の国家間関係を理解しようとする政治概念的な試みである。規範という用語の定義自体が難しいので、実際の運用（operation)ではどうしても曖昧性が残ってしまう。例えば、規範的国家とは、そのように他国によって認識されている国家との定義に関して言うと、もちろんその通りであるが、同義反復でしかないと思える。日本は指導力を発揮したがらず、また責任を取りたがらない傾向があるとの観察には賛成する。
