Details	植民地支配に反対し民主化を図るアジアの歴史を概観している。これをアジアの新国際主義とみなし、共有する理想と考え方を基盤とする欧州のナショナリズムの再構成であると発表者はみなしている。反植民地主義では確かにアジアは一体であるといえるかもしれないが、しかし、アジアに共通する理想や考え方があるとするのは、アジアは経済発展段階だけでなく、文化的、宗教的にも多様なので、疑問であると指摘した。インドが倫理的な政治観念を持っており、倫理観が西欧諸国ができなかった内面的（私的）・外面的（公的）自己を総合する方法であるとの議論は、理解が難しかった。
