Details	発表者は、オーストラリアの外交政策の基本的な方向性に対して明確な視点、説明を提示している。つまり、中国の経済的・軍事的台頭がもたらすオーストラリアの現実的な利害と原理的な立場の相違によるジレンマである。ただし、発表者自身の立場は曖昧なままであった。 例えば、現在のオーストラリアの対中国政策は、ヘッジ型であるとされたが、ヘッジ政策にもいろいろなレベルがあるので、あいまいさが残った。
