Details	This presentation explores the background, philosophy and procedures showing how two of most popular CMS (content management systems) have been effectively deployed by language instructors teaching academic skills courses at two universities in Japan. A diverse range of pedagogical materials and activities will be illustrated, with each exploiting the free web-based services offered by Moodle and WordPress; programs widely used by educators for creating effective online learning and management environments.
