Details The use of technology in and out of the classroom and the promotion of learner autonomy are two important issues that many language teachers face. The question is how to encourage learners to take a more proactive role in their own language learning. This presentation will describe a project in which students created ePortfolios by making their own personalized websites. In addition to these ePortfolios, the students were introduced to a variety of self-directed activities, both traditionally-based and online, to have the resources they needed to take control of their own learning outside the classroom. The ePortfolios provide a place for students to store and showcase their work, as well as opportunities for reflection, so that students could see their progression in English.
