Details	This presentation examines how L2 proficiency influences vocabulary and collocation use in IELTS academic writing. Using 400 IELTS essays (Bands 5–7), the study conducts collocation analyses with the Academic Collocation List and spaCy, and measures lexical sophistication using mutual information (MI) scores. It evaluates the predictive validity of lexical and collocational diversity and sophistication for modeling learner proficiency.
