Details	Young English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners struggle academically in English-only learning environments. This presentation reports on a large corpus project designed to compile lemma-based context-specific academic vocabulary lists specifically for the EAL context. The presentation describes text selection and analysis, part-of-speech tagging procedures, and methods for identifying important academic words and multiword expressions (following Green & Lambert, 2018; Greene & Coxhead, 2015). The researchers examine differences between EAL word lists and existing general and academic word lists, and outline how EAL teachers can use these lists to design supportive curricula.
