Details	This pilot study investigated the extent to which learners' second language (L2) vocabulary influences lexical diversity across three production modes. Researchers examined the relationship between first-year students' L2 vocabulary size and the lexical diversity of their academic writing, presentations, and discussions. Results showed that even learners with high receptive vocabulary knowledge test (uVLT) scores tended not to use those words in academic writing and presentations.
