Details	This study investigates how well items from the newly developed Vocabulary Levels Test by McLean and Kramer (2015) assess students’ ability to master specific frequency bands in the British National Corpus (BNC) word lists. Responses from 84 first-year students were analysed using multifaceted Rasch analysis to examine item fit. The results showed that most items fit the Rasch model well, indicating that they are good indicators of students’ vocabulary knowledge.
