| Details | This study examined the relationship between first-year students’ (N = 62) L2 receptive vocabulary size, measured using the McLean and Kramer (2015) VLT, and the lexical richness of their academic writing samples. The results showed that even students with high VLT scores relied largely on high-frequency vocabulary. However, students who used a wider range of words in their L1 writing tended to use more complex words in their L2 writing. |
