Details This presentation disucssed a study that examined students’ academic writing in a CLIL class. Thirty-two writing samples were collected from students enrolled in a CLIL course and analysed using the categories proposed by Kobayashi (1984). The results showed that while some students were able to transfer the writing skills learned in their academic writing classes to the CLIL context, weaker students struggled to write effectively when dealing with academic topics.
