Details	In many academic English programs, listening is taught by having students attend lectures and take notes. However, this alone does not necessarily help students better understand spoken language. Teachers need to show students how to listen. This presentation reviews research on various approaches to teaching listening and examines how to explain the strengths and limitations of each approach.
