Details	This presentation examines four academic listening textbooks, focusing on the skills and activities they promote. Drawing on findings from recent research in second language listening, it aims to help teachers better understand the types of skills students need to develop in order to become more effective listeners. Using commonly used academic listening textbooks, the presentation also demonstrates how to design activities that allow students to practice and enhance their listening skills.
