Details	This study compared digital versus paper speed reading with 68 university students in Japan who read short stories using either paper copies or the ESL Speed Readings mobile application for six weeks, then switched mediums for another six weeks. Students experienced greater gains in reading fluency with digital texts compared to paper. Qualitative findings revealed more positive perceptions of the digital version due to practical advantages including ease of use, readability, and availability of readings.
