Item Vocabulary Challenge
Details The learning of vocabulary is an important but often neglected area of university teaching. In line with similar strategies from EFL teaching, the "vocabulary challenge" tries to integrate the extra-curricular memorization of vocabulary as part of Active Learning into the classroom. Students are challenging their peers in a one-minute-competition at the beginning of each lesson. For each textbook, a list is made per chapter in the mother tongue (J) and target language (G). The lists are created together with the learners and used throughout the year.
