Details | In this new course for the Faculty of Global Engagement and the Faculty of Foreign Studies I examined all the Japanese religious traditions, from earliest times to the modern era of Japan: Shinto, Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity and the New Religions. During the course I also explored topics like Buddhist-Shinto interaction, the relation of religion and State, pilgrimage and popular culture. Every lesson was held with the support of visual materials, like the software Power Point and video. A part of every lesson was dedicated to the reading of significant bibliographic materials. During one lesson of the course I visit with the students Imamiya Shrine and Daitokuji for a fieldwork. |
