Details | Many young people around the world dream of starting and running their own business. In this lecture we examined some tried-and-true lessons about launching and operating a small business. These have been learned both through the process of trial and error and personal experience, as well as from extensive research into the universal themes that have determined the rise and fall of businesses of all types. In the associated workshop, which included roughly 40 students from more than ten different countries, we practiced troubleshooting and 'pitching' ideas about possible entrepreneurial projects that would be worth trying in Kyoto, Japan. The students were energized and engaged with the process of small business brainstorming, planning, and management. |
